- In 2QFY26, Tata Steel India crude steel production was 5.67 million tons. Production was up 8% QoQ and 7% YoY, primarily aided by normalisation of operations post completion of relining of G Blast furnace at Jamshedpur. On half year basis, production was up 3% YoY to 10.9 million tons.
- Tata Steel India deliveries for the quarter stood at 5.56 million tons. Domestic deliveries grew 20% QoQ and 7% YoY, aided by improved production and stable demand across market segments despite the seasonal rains. On half year basis, deliveries rose 3% YoY, broadly in line with the improvement in production.
- Key highlights of domestic deliveries for the quarter:
- ‘Automotive & Special Products’ vertical deliveries were ~0.8 million tons. Tata Steel continues to strengthen its product portfolio via new facilities and customer approvals. The recently commissioned Continuous Galvanising Line at Kalinganagar has secured facility approvals from OEMs. The new combi- mill has commenced commercial sales, focused on specialty bars & wire rods for critical auto applications.
- ‘Branded Products & Retail’ vertical deliveries were ~1.9 million tons, recorded ‘best ever’ quarterly volumes and surpassed the previous best in 4QFY25. Performance was driven by well-established brands such as Tata Tiscon, Tata Astrum and Tata Steelium. Tata Tiscon was up >25% QoQ and 13% YoY.
- ‘Industrial Products & Projects’ vertical deliveries were ~1.9 million tons, driven by performance of value accretive segments such as Engineering and Ready-to-use solutions. Engineering witnessed a growth of 22% QoQ and 16% YoY. SmartF@B, our ready-to-use solutions, grew 80% YoY driven by new applications.
- Gross Merchandise Value from our e-commerce platforms, Tata Steel Aashiyana and DigECA, was Rs 1,980 crores, more than tripled on YoY basis.
- Tata Steel Netherlands liquid steel production in 2QFY26 was 1.67 million tons and deliveries were 1.54 million tons. Deliveries were marginally higher on QoQ as well as YoY basis.
- Tata Steel UK is serving its customers via downstream processing of purchased substrate. Deliveries for the quarter stood at 0.56 million tons. Construction of the EAF project at Port Talbot commenced during the quarter.
