Tata Steel Young Astronomer Talent Search (YATS) has completed 14 years of opening minds to the wonders of astronomy! This flagship event of Tata Steel in Odisha is aimed to promote the contributions of legendary Odisha astronomer, Pathani Samanta, in the field of Astronomy. YATS seeks to identify and promote the talents of school students in the field of space science by providing them with a platform to test and express their knowledge.
Pathani Samanta Planetarium, Bhubaneswar is a premier institute of Odisha promoting science, astronomy, astrophysics and space science under the administrative control of Science and Technology Department, Government of Odisha. It has advanced digital planetarium projection system imported from USA. Till date, the planetarium has presented more than 20 different kinds of programmes to the public. Apart from regular shows, other activities are also organised by the planetarium such as Wonders of Universe, Mysteries of Night Sky, Earth Moon Sun, IBEX Search for Edge of Universe, Journey to Chocolate Planet, Secrets of Sun and more.
