Building Today.
Scaling Tomorrow.

The Shard has 72 habitable floors with a viewing gallery and an open-air observation deck on the 72nd floor – all containing Tata Steels S450 galvanised steel.

The Shard has 11,000 glass panels, covering 56,000 square metres (602,779 sq ft). It takes 17 window cleaners over 3 months to clean the whole building.

The Shard is 309.6 metres (1016 ft) tall and gets its strength from almost 1000 tonnes of galvanised steel produced by Tata Steel.

The Shard remained true to the original vision of being a “Vertical City” with various occupiers like a hotel, education, medical, tourist attractions, residential, retail, restaurants and offices.

Did You Know?

Award-winning architect Renzo Piano drew the first sketch of the Shard during lunch with Irvine Sellar, the Shard’s developer and joint owner behind the menu of a restaurant in Berlin.

I've always wanted to have a bird's eye view of London and what better place than on top of the Shard. This magnanimous structure stands right apart from the rest of London and makes you feel well above the clouds.
