At Tata Steel, we encourage and enable our employees to contribute their time and skills to make a difference to the lives of many. Employee volunteerism is actively promoted across our organisation. We organise Tata Volunteering Weeks from March through September to encourage mass participation of employees in volunteering activities. Tree plantation and cleanliness drives, mentoring programmes, donations and interactions with children and the elderly are just some of the activities we undertake regularly.
In India, we organise health camps apart from distributing mosquito nets and water purifiers to primary school students.
Our colleagues in Thailand work closely with local communities to improve their quality of life through various projects and organising training courses to develop local businesses.
