Tata Steel Announces the 10th Edition of the Jamshedpur Half Marathon 2025

Jamshedpur, October 22, 2025

Jamshedpur, October 22, 2025: Tata Steel today announced the launch of the 10th edition of the Tata Steel Jamshedpur Half Marathon, which will be held on November 30, 2025. Over the past decade, this annual event has grown into one of Jamshedpur’s most anticipated sporting traditions—symbolising fitness, unity, and community spirit.

The announcement was made during a press conference held today to unveil the theme, date, and opening of the registration link for participants. D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, was the Chief Guest at the event.

This year’s edition celebrates a remarkable milestone—the 10th year of the Jamshedpur Half Marathon—with the theme “Dil Se Daud for Jamshedpur”, capturing the essence of running not just for fitness, but for joy, pride, and togetherness.

In 2024, the marathon witnessed an impressive 4,821 participants from 18 states, reflecting its growing popularity across India. This year, participation is expected to cross 5,500 runners, underscoring the city’s strong enthusiasm for health and wellness.

The Half Marathon (21.097 km), introduced for the first time in 2024, saw an encouraging turnout of nearly 500 runners. Building on that momentum, the 2025 edition anticipates even greater participation in this challenging and prestigious category.

The total prize money for 2025 stands at ₹9.18 lakh, reaffirming Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting fitness and competitive spirit among participants. The marathon route will remain unchanged across all categories, ensuring a familiar, well-managed, and safe experience for runners.

Sports and fitness have always been integral to Tata Steel’s way of life. Guided by its leadership, the company continues to promote active lifestyles and sporting excellence through initiatives such as the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, Joda Run-a-thon, Kapilash Half Marathon, and through its sports academies in football, archery, athletics, hockey, and sport climbing.

Speaking on the occasion, D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel said, “The Jamshedpur Half Marathon has become a symbol of the city’s enduring spirit and passion for fitness. As we celebrate the 10th edition with the theme ‘Dil Se Daud for Jamshedpur,’ we also remind ourselves that it's equally about ‘Dil ke liye Daud for Health.’ This marathon inspires everyone to run not only for the pride of our city but also for their well-being and happiness. It reflects the city’s heartbeat—full of energy and togetherness.”

Tata Steel invites citizens of Jamshedpur and surrounding regions to participate in large numbers—whether as runners, supporters, or volunteers. Every stride contributes to strengthening the city’s vibrant sporting culture.

Registrations are now open, and interested participants can sign up through the official website — www.tatasteelruns.com
