Farewell Function for TATA STEEL's Retiring Employees

At a simple function in General Offices today, Mr. B Muthuraman, Managing Director, Tata Steel, bade farewell to 48 officers and employees who retired today.

Speaking as a Chief Guest on the occasion, Mr Muthuraman said that only in Tata Steel one finds employees putting in long years of service. This is because the Company extends better facilities for employees and their families, which is not provided in any other company in the world, he said. Mr. Muthuraman said that for achieving greater success any company should develop well, should adopt latest technology and should have good leadership and also support from the union. On top of this, the quality of employees plays a major role in taking the company forward. In Tata Steel, he said, it is the culture of involving oneself in the company is the strength, and the progress it has made is due to its ambience and behaviour. However, to become EVA positive and also to reach greater heights, the employees should have a confident approach and be happy and become fully learned, he added.

Many employees who have put in long service in the Company also spoke on the occasion and gave their experiences. They also praised the efforts put in by the Company for employees and their families welfare.

Thereafter, Mr. Muthuraman posed for a farewell photograph with the retiring employees and mingled freely with the employees and their wives over tea.
