Tata Steel organises inter school drawing competition

Nearly 1,200 school children participate in Inter-School Drawing Competition

Tata Steel’s Corporate Social Responsibility department today organised an inter-school drawing competition at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur and Pandit Raghunath Murmu Academy, Karandih. Themed around `tribals and their habitats’, and `tribal culture’, the drawing competition is an attempt to offer insights of the indigenous cultures and traditions to school children. Nearly 1,200 students from 60 schools of Jamshedpur and its peripheral areas participated in the Inter-School Drawing Competition.

R. Ravi Prasad, President Tata Workers’ Union inaugurated the drawing competition at JRD Tata Sports Complex in presence of G. M. Sharan, Head Urban Services, Tata Steel; Urmila Ekka, Head Ethnicity, Tata Steel and staff members of Urban Services. Professor Digamber Hansda inaugurated the competition at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Academy, Karandih.

The competition was conducted in two categories, i.e. Junior (Class III-VI) and Senior (Class VII to XII). Teams from Urban Services and Tribal Cultural Society, operating arms of Tata Steel’s Corporate Social Responsibility department organized the competition at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur and Pandit Raghunath Murmu Academy, Karandih.
