Project 'RISHTA' Tata Steel Family Initiative Foundation

Regional Initiative for Safe Sexual Health by Today's Adolescents, formally known as "Project RISHTA" is a consortium project on Adolescents' Reproductive and Sexual Health, which aims "to improve the sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing of adolescents in Saraikela Kharsawan district of Jharkhand". The project aims to cater to the population located in 30 villages in Gamharia block.

The target groups in the project are primarily adolescents in the age group of 12 to 24 years, married and unmarried who may be either school going, school dropouts or non-school going.

RISHTA TSFIF project of Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation is organizing a three-day residential training program for Peer Educators from 30 villages of Gamharia Block on 14th, 15th & 16 th Sep 2011 at J R D Tata Sports Complex (Residential Wings Hall). There are 50 participants both boys & girls from Murkum, Rajgaon & Gidhibera .

In three days the topic to be covered are ARSH session, Nurturing Life Skills, Healthy Life, Say no to drugs, Contraceptives, Reproductive system , Gender issues, Age of marriage, HIV/AIDS, STI & RTI , Family Values etc. There are group activity, skit competitions to enrich youth's talents like leadership skills, communication skills, time management & team work etc.

Objective of residential training is to enhance knowledge level of youth in a supportive disciplined environment to develop youth's inherent energy in an integrated positive way. Training provides young participants to express themselves and subsequently enjoy participating in different activities.
