Tata Steel awarded for Exemplary work in Energy Conservation

Tata Steel was today awarded for exemplary work in energy conservation by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, by Sri Ram Naik, Honourable Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas at the valedictory function of Oil & Gas Conservation Fortnight at the Nehru Memorial Auditorium in Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi.

The award was received by Mr C Mishra, Chief of Mechanical Technology Group, Tata Steel. Tata Steel was awarded for the usage of energy efficient industrial gear oil in place of conventional sulphur phosphorous E P Oil used for industrial applications.

Since large number of gear boxes & gear trends are used in the steel industry, the energy required for driving the machinery through these gear boxes and gear trends is huge, hence by using energy efficient gear oil, the saving of energy is upto 5%, depending upon the application, of precious energy is saved.
