Jamshedpur’s bounty of 8 large and 22 small parks, accounts for a bewildering 231 acres of the city’s total area. On its Golden Jubilee in 1958, Tata Steel gifted a 37.75-acre Jubilee Park to the citizens of Jamshedpur. Sir Dorabji Tata Park, dedicated to Tata Steel’s first Chairman, is yet another jewel located in the middle of the city. Nestled in the heart of the city, the Tata Steel Zoological Park is a treasure trove of natural wonders. A variety of animal species roam freely in its Safari park, accounting for its wildlife population of over 440 inhabitants. The Zoological Park receives an annual footfall of approximately 4.5 lakh, as its Nature Education Centre, Jubilee Lake, and Nature Trail attract several tourists. For those who seek thrills and adventure, the Nicco amusement park houses some of the most enjoyable rides and experiences.

The road connectivity with highways increased almost four-fold over the last 25 years. This infrastructure has been instrumental in decongesting the traffic coming in and going out of the city.

Various initiatives have been undertaken to improve the mobility within the city like widening and illumination of roads and introduction of safety features (roundabouts, traffic signals, dividers, central verges, footpaths, high masts, LED lamps, etc.).

Effective Water management

Residents of Jamshedpur are supplied with the highest quality of water available, which is graded above WHO standards. The city also boasts of a benchmark level of water supply, with the average duration of water availability reaching over 8 hours a day. 100% of the sewage collected from the city is treated and recycled.

Power

The city’s 10 ‘Sairat’ markets are spread over a cumulative area of approximately 57 acres of the city. The redevelopment of the 10 markets under this category on PPP mode has been initiated. Parking facilities

While the city offers a considerable amount of parking spaces in public areas, a few new parking facilities are in the works. This includes a 2,000 sqm parking zone near Bistupur market and a 9,000 sqm wide parking space along the Sakchi - Kalimati road stretch.
