Tata Main Hospital celebrates International Nurses Day
Tata Main Hospital today celebrated the International Nurses Day. Mr Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. (Rtd) Air Marshal (Dr.) Rajan Chaudhry, General Manager, Medical Services was the Guest of Honor.
Mrs Marykutty Babu, Nursing Superintendent, welcomed all the nurses and dignitaries and expressed her sincere gratitude to the Management it’s support in strengthening the nursing services at TMH. In his address to the gathering, Mr Bhaskaran congratulated the nurses on this auspicious occasion. Dr Chaudhry motivated the nurses with his thought provoking message to them. Senior faculty and other doctors of TMH were present on the occasion. The Nurses day at TMH was celebrated by organizing various cultural programs by the nurses of Tata Main Hospital.
The programme ended with the prize distribution for the best performing nurses by the Chief Guest followed by a vote of thanks.
The International Nurses Day signifies the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale who is the pioneer and founder of Modern Nursing. The International Council of Nurses has identified this year’s theme as “Nurses: A voice to Lead-Achieving the SDGS (Sustainable Development Goals). The aim is to raise awareness both amongst the nursing profession and the general population and policy makers of what the SDGS are and why they matter. It also gives a chance to contribute at a personal level and recognize the efforts being made every day to achieve these goals.
