Tata Steel's employees awarded the Prime Minister's Shram Awards for 2005-07

~ 22 employees of the Steel Company receive the Prestigious Award between 2005-08 ~

The Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India honoured 15 of Tata Steel’s employees at the Prime Minister’s Shram Awards for the Year 2005, 06 and 07, at a function held today at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

The awardees received their awards from Dr Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, in presence of Mr Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Minister of Labour & Employment and Mr Harish Rawat Hon’ble Minister of State for Labour & Employment.

1. Shram Bhushan:

2. Shram Veer:

Mr. Bijan Kumar Sharma (foreman) of Coke Plant (IEM),
Mr. Raju Sharma (foreman) of MED (E) and Mr. Tarun Kumar}
Ghosh (foreman) of WRM.
3. Shram Shree:

Mr. Pramod Prasad (Sr. Associate) of M&U (IEM) and
Mr. Laxman Singh (Charge hand) from FAMD.

4. Shram Devi: Ms. Parwati (Jr. Technician) of Engg. Services

The Prime Minister’s Shram Awards were instituted in the year 1985 for the Public Sector. Its objective is to recognize outstanding contributions made by workmen as defined in the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947. This award was extended to the Private Sector in 2004. It recognizes workmen who have distinguished record of performance, devotion to duty of a high order, specific contribution in the field of productivity, proven innovative abilities, presence of mind and exceptional courage. It is also for workmen who have made supreme sacrifice of laying down their lives in the conscientious discharge of their duties.
