The function saw floral tributes being offered by all present. It was attended by senior executives of Tata Steel including Mr. Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Mr. Sudhansu Pathak, Vice President, Steel Manufacturing, Mr. Arun Misra, Vice President, Raw Materials, and Mr. Avneesh Gupta, Vice President, Shared Services. A keen sportsman from his early years, Sir Dorabji Tata was the first President of the Indian Olympic Association and was instrumental in steering India’s entry into the Olympics. On this auspicious day, we remember him with respect and reverence for his contribution to Industry and Sports”.
Mr. R Ravi Prasad said, “The very existence of the city of Jamshedpur should be credited to the efforts of Sir Dorabji Tata. Apart from the initiatives for Tata Steel and the city of Jamshedpur, Sir Dorabji Tata was instrumental in securing a place for India in the 1924 Olympics at Paris and was chosen as a Member of the International Olympic Committee.
