Tata Steel employee wins Bronze at Total BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2019 held at Switzerland

Jamshedpur , August 26, 2019

Tata Steel employee Umesh Vikram Kumar, who represented India, won a Bronze medal in Men’s Doubles at Total Badminton World Federation (BWF) Para Badminton World Championship 2019 held at Basel, Switzerland.

Mr. Kumar is a manager with Helpdesk Centre in Procurement Division of the company. He has expressed his gratitude towards Tata Steel Limited for providing all the support and encouraging him to follow his passion. Kumar feels proud to represent India at the international level tournament. He has been training at Tata Steel Sports Department Badminton training facilities since last three years.

Tata Steel Sports Department officials have congratulated Mr. Kumar for the achievement and bringing laurels for the Centre.

The tournament was held from August 20-25 where in the world's best badminton players from around 50 nations participated in the St. Jakobshalle Basel at the Para-Badminton World Championships 2019.
