Career Counselling Session for school students by Tata Steel at West Bokaro
With an objective to provide proper guidance to the school children of West Bokaro, a two-day career counselling session is being organized on December 15-16, 2016.
The session was inaugurated today at the West Bokaro auditorium by Mr Rajeev Singhal, Vice President, Raw Materials Division, Tata Steel in the presence of Mr Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Manager, West Bokaro Division; Mr Mohan Mahato, President, Rastriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh, Mr S S Hota, Chief, Human Resource Management, Raw Materials, Tata Steel and Ms Mita Singhal among others.
The two-day session will be conducted by the renowned educationist and career counsellor Mr Jitin Chawla. The programme aims at giving proper direction to the students of class 9 to class 12, their parents and teachers. More than 100 students from Holy Cross School and Tata DAV, Ghatotand have registered for the session where they will be engaged in an exercise of exploring the emerging career avenues along with available choices of education in the future. The two-day session will include a workshop followed by aptitude test for the students and then individual counselling for a bright and promising future.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Singhal said: “Tata Steel is committed towards shaping the future of all its stakeholders. There are vast career options available today and students need guidance on the same. I am sure that a platform like this will help not only the students but also the parents to guide their children better in choosing career of a lifetime”.
Mr Chawla along with his team of experts emphasized that exploration of careers is utmost important and took everyone through a paradigm shift on the subject of the choice of career in today’s times. He introduced students and parents to various emerging career streams as Yoga Instructor, Defence as well as other management/organization based careers, creative careers, physical and outdoor Careers,and various other unconventional career options. He also clarified common misconceptions associated with choosing streams and careers and emphasized on ‘WHY NOT’ to choose certain career options.
