Tata Steel celebrates International Day of Yoga
The Sports Department of Tata Steel today organised a Yoga camp at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. More than 4,000 people joined the camp taking advantage of the wonderful weather. The participants consisted of all age groups who together enjoyed performing the asanas scheduled.
As a precursor to the event, at 5:30 AM, serene Sitar music started being played in the background. This was followed by blowing of Conch shells and the arrival of Yoga Guruji Mr. Arvind Prasad, who conducted the programme.
International Day of Yoga, or Yoga Day as it is referred to, is celebrated annually on June 21st since its inception in 2015. The International Day for Yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice, which originated in India.
