Air Marshal (Dr) Rajan Chaudhry, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel today inaugurated the three day, 57th Half Yearly Conference of the Tata Main Hospital (TMH) Clinical Society. Along with Dr Rajan as Chief Guest, Dr Sridhar Pradhan, Chief of Medical Support Services, Chief Consultant and HOD Surgery, TMH graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Dr Somen Chakravarthy, Chief Consultant and HOD of Radiology at TMH, President of the Clinical Society this year was also present on the occasion.

In addition to other distinguished guest speakers, Dr Govind Babu from HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd (HCG) who is a renowned Medical Oncologist trained at the Dana Farber and MD Anderson centre in the USA, eminent minimally invasive surgeon Dr Manash Ranjan Sahoo from AIIMS, Bhubaneshwar and acclaimed Palliative Care expert from Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, Dr Gaurav Kumar would also take part in the conference this year. This is an unique development where three such senior medical professionals from across the country would take part in the conference.

Dr Rajan Chaudhry spoke about the emergence of TMH as an institution of repute in the areas of infrastructure, facilities and services and the important role played by the TMH Clinical Society as a harbinger of cutting edge practices for the greater food of the hospital and the community at large.

The conference would take place from September 20-22, 2019. The academic fest started today evening  with two workshops for the doctors of TMH to enhance their practical skills. 

The TMH Clinical Society completed 50 years of uninterrupted weekly knowledge sharing in 2012. Over the years the conference has offered a platform for advancement of knowledge, share the latest scientific findings and provides an environment for learning about the latest developments and services coming up in the medical field.The Clinical Society is a vibrant scientific body of the Hospital. In addition to the two conferences held every year - half yearly and annual, the Clinical Society conducts two weekly meetings where topics on different specialities of the medical practice are deliberated upon.
