Tata Steel to pay homage to JRD Tata on his 114th Birth Anniversary
The 114th Birth Anniversary of Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhai Tata falls on July 29, 2018. Always more than an industrialist, JRD Tata made a unique contribution to the development of the sciences and art. He played a pivotal role in the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, the Tata Memorial Cancer Research Centre and Hospital, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, the National Centre for Performing Arts and the National Institute of Advanced Studies. Besides his social concerns that distinguished him, he was also the undisputed pioneer of civil aviation in India, and helped to usher in an era of air transport in India. Various activities have been lined up at Tata Steel to commemorate his 114th Birth Anniversary.
- SONARI AIRPORT
As a mark of tribute to JRD Tata and his passion for flying, a special program will be held on July 29th at Sonari Airport by Tata Steel's Aviation department. This will display an Aero-modeling show and static display of aircraft. Timing : 9.00 am onwards
