Jamshedpur Run-a-thon all set for Sunday, November 18, 2018

Registrations filling up fast towards the 6500 mark.

Tata Steel is all set to kickstart its annual Jamshedpur Run-a-thon on November 18, 2018. This year, the registrations would be capped at the 6500 mark based on first come first serve basis. Signalling a massive spurt in interest towards fitness amongst citizens from all walks of life, participation in the Jamshedpur Run has grown in leaps and bounds over the last four years with 34% average y-o-y growth in the number of registrations.

There will be different events for various categories of runners. Al the three Runs (10-km, 7-km, 5-km) are open to Indian nationals. The 10-km race will be the first race to be flagged-off at 0610 hours. Apart from this, there will be the 5-km run for under-16 boys and girls. The reporting time for 10-km run is 5.30 AM, 7-km run is 6.30 AM and 5-km run is 7 AM.

The 5-km run for under-16 boys and girls will start from the Archery Ground, JRD Tata Sports Complex. The runners will move towards Convent School and further ahead to CH Area roundabout. The runners after reaching CH Area Petrol Pump will take a U-turn, cross CH Area Roundabout and move toward the JUSCO Office roundabout. Runners will run past the entrance of the Keenan Stadium and reach the finish line at the Archery Ground entering from JRD Tata Sports Complex main gate.

The 7-km run will follow the same route as the 5-km run till CH Area petrol pump. From CH Area, the runners will move further towards Marine Drive. At the Marine Drive stretch, they will take a U-turn for the CH Area roundabout. The runners will move toward the JUSCO Office roundabout. They will enter the JRD Tata Sports Complex from the entrance near the Boxing Training Centre, Straight Mile Road and reach the finish line at the Archery Ground.

The 10-km run will follow the same route as 7-km. However, the runners will cover a larger distance on the Marine Drive before reaching the finish line at the Archery Ground entering JRD Tata Sports Complex from the Boxing Training Centre Gate, Straight Mile Road.

Tata Steel Jamshedpur “Run-a-thon 2018” registrations (offline and walk-in) have been open from early October 2018. Participants can register in the two following ways:

1. Walk-in and collect the registration form at JRD Tata Sports Complex from  9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on week days only (0657 6644815 , 0657 2431141) and register on-the-spot

2. Log onto http://www.tatasteeljsr-run.comand register online

The last date to register for the 5th edition of Jamshedpur Run-a-thon is October 30, 2018.
