Security of Tata Steel Employees in the leased area at Jamshedpur

Security and Fire awareness cum Interaction session with the District Police by approximately 60Tata Steel and JUSCO employees representing various Housing societies and quarters was organised May 21, 2016 at CFE. Mr. Chandan Jha, IPS, City SP along with Dy SP Law and Order, Dy SP City, Dy SP HQ 1, Dy SP HQ 2 and Officer In Charge Bistupur Police Station represented the District Police.

A presentation on Security and Fire including preventive measures to be taken by the residents was made by me followed by interaction of the participants with the district police team.



City SP replied for 22 questions of the participants and also called upon all the participants to take adequate preventive measures, report the incidents of crime or suspicious behaviour to the jurisdictional Police with out any apprehension and fear and help victims of crimes. He assured that Police will extend support to the members of community in getting their security concerns addressed. He further assured that in case members of the community do not get proper response from the lower level police officers (which he further emphasized to be negligible), they may approach him in his office between 1100-1400 hrs during the week days and on his mobile anytime. He assured to look into the complaints of harassment by local miscreants and eve teasers in and around colonies/societies, enforcement of motor vehicle acts to contain bike stunts and riding two wheelers without helmets, containment of drug peddling, punitive action for vehicle parking at the unauthorised places, placing of signages for no entry and one way entry,preventive measures for cyber crimes and investigation on reported serious incidents by the cyber criminals. He, however advised to deploy adequate security guards in the societies and install CCTV cameras. He cited the case of a housing society in Sonari where more than 1500 families reside which was neither being guarded by professional security personnel nor had any CCTV cameras.

He further advised regular meeting of the members of community and Residential societies with the jurisdictional police stations and advised all the members to inform 100 and jurisdictional Police stations in stead of SSP, SP and other senior officers in case of any help is needed.

TSL security would help TSL Housing Societies in the selection of capable and professional security vendors and guards, preparation of SOPs for the security duties, conduct of their refresher training through the vendors in the TSL Security Training centre, awareness session for employees and their family members for prevention of security breach and Fire incidents, planning and designing of Video surveillance systems at the Gates and vulnerable areas, reinforcing the security set up during crisis through Town security team and assisting them in getting their security concerns especially security breaches addressed by the Police.
