Tata Steel inks MoU with Loyola Educational Society for setting up a School at Kalinganagar
Tata Steel has been making sustained endeavour to contribute positively to the quality of life in and around its operational locations. As part of the endeavour, to facilitate quality education for the students of Kalinganagar area in Jajpur district, Tata Steel today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Loyola Educational Society (LES) for setting up a school at Kalinganagar.
Mr Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel and Fr. Gilbert Menezes, Secretary, Loyola Educational Society (LES) signed the agreement in a ceremony organised at the General Office premises of the Kalinganagar Project of Tata Steel.
Mr Sudhansu Pathak, Vice President, Steel Manufacturing, Tata Steel, Mr Prasanta Mallick, GM (Corporate Services), Kalinganagar Project and other senior officials of Tata Steel were present on the occasion.
Mr Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel expressed his thoughts on this milestone by saying that, “I am glad that with this initiative of Tata Steel, for the first time, the entire region of Kalinganagar will have access to high quality school education in its vicinity, that too by the highly acclaimed Loyola Educational Society.”
Fr. Gilbert Menezes, Secretary, LES, said, “ I am happy that the co-operation and partnership with Tata Steel, which began in 1948 with the establishment of Loyola School at Jamshedpur, has further strengthened today with the signing of this agreement for the establishment of Loyola School at Kalinganagar.”
Tata Steel would spend about Rs 25.5 crore for the infrastructure development of the School. The School would be spread over 9.96 acres of land and would have instruction facility from Nursery to Standard-X in a phased manner. The school campus located near Gobarghati would consist of academic and sports facilities for students.
The Academic facilities comprise 24 class rooms, 5 laboratories and a Library among others. Tata Steel would provide the initial infrastructure with requisite facilities.
