Tata Steel announces Production Results for Q3 of FY'12

Tata Steel registered robust performance in the third quarter of FY’12.The key production and sales figures are appended below.

Other operating highlights:

  • Flat Products sale in Q3FY’12 increased 3% y-o-y however Long Products sale are low due to lower availability of finished goods because of planned shut downs in the mills.
  • Long Products achieved best ever quarterly retail sales of 272 kt (previous best 268 kt in Q2 FY’12).
  • LD#2 (one of the Steel Melting Shop) achieved highest ever quarterly production of 1015 kt (previous best: 994 kt in Q2 FY’12).
  • Tata Steel conferred with ‘Best Conscious Capitalist Award’ for 2011-2012 at the Forbes India Leadership Awards.
