Khalin Joshi wins the Tata Steel Southern India Open Amateur Golf Championship

Bengaluru, September 21, 2012

Khalin Joshi has won the Tata steel Southern India Open Amateur Golf Championship at the finals played at Karnataka Golf Association in Bengaluru today. He again returned the best score of the day 5 under par 67. He won the Championship with a 14 stroke lead over Chikkarangappa who played one over par 73 for the day.The Club President SumitRathor hailed Khalin's efforts which was endorsed by Mr.M.P.Paul,Captain of the Club.Both wished the youngsters in their future as Professionals as both the players planning to turn professionals soon. The present record score for four round held by Jyotiranghawa in 1998 which was 14 under.

Udayan Mane who returned a par score for 4 rounds clinched the second runner up position due to his better score last 9 holes on the last day.Ther other two at level par scores were Simarjeet Singh and Honey Baisoya.

Khalin thanked his Caddy Rama for the game and also thanked all his friends walking along, specially Tessa. 

Ankurchadha returned second best score for the day - four under par 68. Please find attached the final day scoreboard.

The day was perfect and green speed was 9.
