Tata Steel announces change in senior management
Tata Steel today announced a change in its senior management. The changes, effective from 1st April, 2010, are as follows:
- Mr Anand Sen, VP (TQM & FP) is appointed as VP (TQM & Shared Services)
- Mr A M Misra, VP (RM & CSI) is appointed as VP (CSI & IR)
- Mr Om Narayan, VP (Shared Services) is appointed as VP (Special Projects)
- Mr Partha Sengupta, VP (Corporate Services) is appointed as VP (RM).
- Mr Hridayeshwar Jha , VP (Safety & Long Product) is appointed as VP (Orissa Project)
- Mr T V Narendran on his return from a secondment to Nat Steel, Singapore is appointed as VP (Safety & Flat Products).
- Mr Sanjeev Paul on his return from JUSCO to Tata Steel is appointed as VP (Corporate Services).
- Mr Bimalendra Jha, Principal Executive Officer, MD’s Office, is appointed as VP (Long Products)
Additionally, Mr Arun Baijal, Group Director (Global Mineral Resources) and Mr B K Singh, Vice President (Orissa project) would be retiring from the 1st of April, 2010.
Mr Arun Baijal, one of the senior most members of the Tata Steel Management team, played a pivotal role of ensuring raw material security for the Tata Steel Group by creating and nurturing the Global Mineral Resources organization. In his role as Group Director (GMR), Mr Baijal ensured a global footprint for Tata Steel in this area through global acquisitions and joint ventures. We now have interests in Africa, Middle East, Australia and Canada. Mr Baijal has served the Company for over 39 years.
Mr B K Singh, Vice President (Orissa project) has played many different roles in the Company before taking on the current role. Mr. Singh has created appropriate environment in the Orissa project so as to enable us to start the construction work in Kalinganagar. Before taking up this role, he was the main force behind the successful creation and operation of Hooghly Metcoke and Power Company Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel. By making a success of this venture, he helped the Company expand and grow as per the plans.
This change is in line with the Company’s move to develop a leadership team to effectively lead, continuously improve and sustain the essence of Tata Steel while expanding its reach strategically, geographically and culturally.
