9th Tata Open Golf Tournament concludes on a pulsating note

~ Golfers in Jamshedpur now look forward to scoring a hole at the upcoming
18-hole golf course at Golmuri~

Acclaimed as one of the most prestigious golf events in India, the 9th Tata Open Golf Tournament concluded today amidst much cheer and enthusiasm amongst all present. The five day event was hosted at Beldih and Golmuri golf courses, under the aegis of Aircel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI); the fifth time in series.

Taking a lead this year is Mr Ashok Kumar with a brilliant score of 59, 65, 66 & 70. He was awarded with a prize money of Rs 8,08,250/- and a trophy. Mr Vijay Kumar bagged the second position in the Professional category with score of 67, 64, 65 & 70. He was awarded with a prize money of Rs 5,58,250/. Three players made it to the hole-in-one category – Mr Ajeetesh Sandhu (Hole no.1 at Beldih Golf Course), Mr Rafique Ali Mollah (Hole no. 11 at Golmuri Golf Course) and Mr Om Prakash Chouhan (Hole no. 06 at Golmuri Golf Course). Mr H M Nerurkar, Managing Director, Tata Steel, gave away the prizes to the winners.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Nerurkar said, “It feels great to note that the Tata Open Golf has taken its roots in Jamshedpur and the two golf courses at Beldih and Golmuri. I thank Mr Muthuraman for visualising this and making it a most sought-after event for the golfing fraternity. Needless to say, this has placed Jamshedpur on a prominent spot in the world of golf.”
