Naval Tata 3rd Jharkhand State Hockey Championship 2020 kicks off

Jamshedpur, March 05, 2020

Naval Tata 3rd Jharkhand State Hockey Championship 2020 was inaugurated by Mr Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services Tata Steel and Mr Bholanath Singh, President, Hockey Jharkhand at ISWP Sports Complex today.

Sub-Junior and Junior teams of Jharkhand are participating in the event. The tournament was declared open with unveiling of trophies and release of balloons by the guests.

This tournament will be a state level tournament for Hockey Jharkhand. It will be a league cum knock out match tournament concluding with finals on March 8.

Teams from Gumla, Khunti, Hazaribag, Ranchi and NTHA are participating among total 16 teams in this championship. The tournament will be for boys of Sub Juniors of age under 17 born on or after 1/1/2003 and Juniors of age under 19 born on or after 1/1/2001. 

As a part of vision of Hockey Ace Foundation to promote Hockey, this is first time that a state level tournament is being organised in Astro Turf facility at Jamshedpur. The championship is being organised by the Naval Tata Hockey Academy under the auspices of Hockey Jharkhand.
