TMH Golmuri empaneled under Ayushman Bharat Yojana

~ New facility inaugurated by Shri Raghubar Das, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand ~

~ Becomes the first such hospital in Jharkhand dedicated only to the scheme beneficiaries ~

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Raghubar Das, today, inaugurated Tata Main Hospital (TMH) Golmuri, a dedicated hospital aimed at meeting medical care requirements of patients under the ambitious Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY).

TMH Golmuri will act as an empaneled unit of the State government where entitled beneficiaries will be treated under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The inauguration ceremony of the 30-bed hospital was presided over by Shri Raghubar Das, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Jharkhand in the presence of Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel. Smt. Menka Sardar, Shri Kunal Sarangi, Shri Laxman Tudu - the Hon’ble Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Jharkhand also graced the occasion. Mr. Ravi Shankar Shukla, Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum, Mr. Anoop Birtharay, SSP, Jamshedpur, along with senior functionaries from the district administration and officials from Tata Steel were present on the occasion.

Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, said, “It is a historic moment for all of us. TMH Golmuri will serve as an independent Ayushman Bharat Hospital and a dedicated facility to serve needy patients who avail treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. I thank all those who have worked tirelessly to make this facility ready and hope that in course of time this hospital would become one with the medical legacy of Jamshedpur”.

Mr. Chaudhary also said that the decision to come up with an Independent Ayushman Bharat facility was taken as the Tata Main Hospital which caters to the employees as well as the community at large continues to register more than 90% occupancy.

“Tata Main Hospital has been serving the citizens of Jamshedpur since its inception in 1907 and has grown manifold. We have also upgraded Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital (MTMH) earlier his year.

It’s an honour for us to associate with the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and to be able to provide medical care for an even larger section of society in the region,” he added.

The 30-bed facility will have 15-beds for ladies and children while 15-bed for the male patients. TMH Golmuri will be a 24x7 facility with availability of General Surgery, Orthopedics, Pediatric and Anaesthesiology services and will soon add the services of specialist Physician.

Shri Raghubar Das along with Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary took a tour of the premises. Hon’ble Chief Minister distributed Ayushman Bharat Cards and interacted with the patients. Later, the dignitaries present on the dais unveiled the commemoration plaque before addressing the gathering.
