Tata Steel recognised among India's Best Workplaces: Large Organization, 2020

Mumbai, December 24, 2019

~ 3rd time to be accorded with this special recognition ~

Tata Steel has been certified as a Great Place to Work organisation in India under the category of ‘Large Organizations’ with over 500 and less than 50,000 employees. The annual certification from the Great Place to Work® Institute recognises Tata Steel’s work towards building an organisation of High-Trust, High-Performance Culture™.

Mr. Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Vice President, Human Resource Management, Tata Steel said: We are honored to be certified as a “Great Place to Work” for yet another year. Tata Steel believes in building an organisation that places a premium on investing in a culture of nurturing trust & employee empowerment as the corner stones of high-performance. This fundamental philosophy has remained unchanged over the years in Tata Steel, and we have worked to keep it relevant with the changing times and employee aspirations.

Over the years, Tata Steel has introduced several path-breaking policies, practices and initiatives for various segments of the workforce like 5-day work week, menstrual leave, paternity leave, adoption leave, satellite office operation, employee assistance programme and Take-2 (to provide a platform to the partners of the Tata Steel employees and women professionals who are on career break) to name a few. MOSAIC, the diversity & inclusion initiative of Tata Steel, introduced in 2015, also defines the path the Company has taken to build a people-oriented inclusive culture.

Earlier this month, Tata Steel rolled out a new HR policy that enables colleagues from the LGBTQ+ community to declare their partners (people of same-sex living like a married couple) and avail all HR benefits permissible under the Law.

Every year, more than 10,000 organisations from over 60 countries partner with Great Place to Work® Institute for assessment, benchmarking and planning actions to strengthen their workplace culture. Great Place to Work® Institute’s methodology is recognised as rigorous and objective work culture assessment process. It is considered the gold standard in identifying and recognising great workplace cultures.
