Tata Steel inaugurates Tech Fest at Tata Steel Technical Institute, Burmamines

Jamshedpur, November 30, 2018

The two-day Tech-Fest at the Tata Steel Technical Institute (TSTI), Burmamines, was inaugurated by Mr Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice-President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chaudhary said “All ideas displayed at Tech-Fest are very novel, unique and impressive. Students here should push their ideas forward to make the innovative exhibits operational at a larger scale.” He urged students to think innovatively and differently and assured all help to take forward the innovative concepts displayed at this impressive event.

Students from around 25 educational and technical institutes (polytechnics, ITIs and secondary schools) are displaying their exhibits keeping in mind the underlying theme of the event—`Simplifying lives through technology’ (takniki gyan se jeevan asaan). The displays pertain to more than 40 Projects. Apart from showcasing the projects, students would also be participating in Cultural events, Quizes and Tech Debates in the two day festival, which will culminate on December 1, 2018 afternoon.

Mr Sourav Roy, Chief, CSR, Tata Steel and Capt Amitabh, Head, Skill Development, CSR, Tata Steel were also present along with the staff of TSTI, Burmamines on the occasion.

The Tech Fest is aimed to provide a platform for youngsters from Jamshedpur and nearby regions to showcase their creativity, innovative ideas and hidden technical talent.

After witnessing the success of first Tech fest in year 2016, it had been decided to make this an annual event and this year was it’s third edition.
