The Jamshedpur Eye Hospital (JEH), today had a Cake Cutting Ceremony & the Launching of it’s Website. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were JEH committee members, JEH Staff, Ophhalmologists of JEH, TMH & TATA MOTORS, and Heads of other hospitals.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs.Narendran congratulated the JEH team on their achievements and mentioned about the future plans of JEH.

Mr.Rakeshwar Pandey praised the Eye Hospital for the good work being done by the institution and commended the staff for their dedicated service.

Giving details of the Hospital, Dr S P Jakhanwal, Secretary & Superintendent, Jamshedpur Eye Hospital said that “ JEH, a primary level eye-care centre established in 1961 , has grown into a super specialty eye-care centre.  ‘Eliminating avoidable visual impairment for all’ remained our Vision. JEH is constantly striving to achieve this by continuous improvement in knowledge, technology & practice.  Like previous years, year 2017 was also very special one for us as we could achieve most of our targets in set time frame.

Special emphasis has been given to Infrastructure & Processes improvement. For this, we joined hands with Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, which is a pioneer eye care Institute of India, known for its low cost high volume quality Eye care and manufacturer of ‘Aurolens’, the first low priced IOL in India, as one of the partners to enhance our capability for increasing community services. To sustain community service on regular basis its essential to involve local people of that area so, we initiated ‘Field worker Training Programme’ & School Teacher’s Training Programme’ in which 24 people from different Panchayats & 42 Teachers of 6 schools were trained to screen visually impaired people of their area & so they can be referred for treatment. I am happy to inform that recently we also received quality accreditation certificate from ISO 2001:2015 for our process improvement initiative in Eye Care Services.”

To improve patients’ facilities, the doctor’s chambers has been renovated and next the wards for will be taken up for renovation as per JEH renovation master plan. For better data management & smooth patient flow, Integrated HMS was also installed in the Hospital.

The JEH Website was also launched on the occasion.
