Tata Steel set to organize 'Dhwani'- a Youth Conclave

Tata Steel is all set to organize ‘Dhwani’, a first-ever youth conclave on August, 12-13, 2017, at Jamshedpur.

Coinciding with International Youth Day on Aug 12, the first edition of Dhwani is being organised at Sidhgora Town Hall.

Around 500 youth from across Jharkhand will converge at the conclave. They will engage with academicians, development practitioners, spiritual teachers and humanitarians from different parts of India, on topics ranging from peacebuilding, innovative approaches to address adolescent health and societal problems faced by the youth of today.

As a show of solidarity against violence, all the youth and delegates will come together to take out a peace procession, which will mark the beginning of Dhawni. Starting from Sidghora Market, the peace rally will culminate at the conclave’s venue.

Mr Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, will address the conclave as the chief guest. Dr G Gladston Xavier, Head, Social Work Department, Loyala College, Chennai, who is also an expert in the field of conflict and peacebuilding will deliver the keynote address.

National Youth Award recipient Mr Pravin Nikam, who has extensively trained women, mostly slum-dwellers, about menstrual hygiene will also address the youth. Significant, majority of the youth attending the conclave are part of Tata Steel’s Project RISHTA (Regional Initiative for safe Sexual Health by Today’s Adolescents).  The initiative aims to enable adolescents make informed decisions regarding their lives, particularly sexual and reproductive health.

The youth will also share their transformation they underwent after getting associated with Project RISHTA.

A series of cultural performances will also be staged on both the days of the conclave.
