Tata Steel observes International Day of People with Disability

Jamshedpur, December 2, 2017: On the eve of ‘International Day of People with Disability’ Tata Steel Skill Development Society and Urban Services Department in collaboration with various NGOs of Jamshedpur, like, PAMHJ, NAB, JEEVIKA, PATH, Divya Jyoti and Blind Workshop today held a series of events to observe the Day. The event was organized at Tribal Culture Centre, Sonari, Jamshedpur.

The event kickstarted by extending gratitude to the parents of children with disability through story sharing session titled "Meri Bhi Kahani" which tends to bring several stories of parents who have children with disabilities and their journey till date with future expectation.

The uniqueness of the event was the experience of dark room, an activity based sensitization zone for non-disabled person, to feel and empathize with person with disability. The children with disability also performed a ramp walk with expert fashion models of the town, and a role play to express the reality of challenges titled "Good Morning.

The event also witnessed contemporary dance performance by hearing impaired youth from Odisha, and group song by children's of NAB and various other surprise performances.
