NEW WAITING AREA FOR PATIENTS INAUGURATED AT TMH

Jamshedpur, November 23, 2017

A new Waiting Area for convenience of patients’ attendants was inaugurated today at the Tata Main Hospital by Mr Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel and Mr Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, Dy. President, Tata Workers’ Union.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Sunil Bhaskaran said “ This was a long standing demand and a top class facility is now being provided by Tata Steel for the relatives of patients admitted in CCU / HDU.”

Commenting on the new facility, Mr Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary said “TMH has shown a lot of improvement for the benefit of the citizens and this is one such thing.”

The need for this new facility arose as over the last few years it was noticed that the area near ICU, CCU and HDU was being over crowded because of patients’ attendants at the place. Owing to the need and to provide a decent waiting area for attendants, Tata Main Hospital has developed a fully air-conditioned Waiting Area for patients’ attendants near CCU.

The 3 (Three) storied Waiting Area has a seating capacity of 135 persons with separate washroom facilities (Male & Female) at each floor. For safety of attendants round the clock Security personnel will be deployed and only 2 (Two) attendants will be allowed to stay in the waiting area who have valid attendant pass issued by TMH at the time of admission. PA System has been installed at ICU, CCU & HDU with speakers inside the waiting area to enable the nursing staff to call the attendants, if required. Refreshment counter has been made available near the waiting area which will operate from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

The new facility will help to decongest the existing area and to encourage the attendants to use the newly developed waiting hall.
