Ankita Bhakat bags Gold medal in mixed team World Archery Championship

Jamshedpur, October 09, 2017

Ankita Bhakat, a cadet from Tata Archery Academy, Jamshedpur has bagged Gold medal in mixed team World Archery Championship in Rosario, Argentina. The medal is India’s fourth World Archery Champion title across all disciplines.

Ms Purnima Mahato, Coach, Tata Archery Academy has been instrumental in guiding and shaping the skills of Ms Bhakat.

Speaking about the achievement Ms Mahato said “Tata Steel is committed towards promoting sporting activities and encouraging young talent to participate. We at Tata Steel are extremely proud and honored with Ms Bhakat’s achievement in Argentina.  Archery is a very popular sport in Jharkhand and I am sure Ms Bhakat’s success will encourage more youth from the state to participate in this sport
