Tata Steel undertakes anti-dengue preventive measures in Kalinganagar
To prevent the occurrence of ‘Dengue’ in Kalinganagar and its nearby areas, Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), the CSR arm of Tata Steel, has intensified the fogging operations in villages located in and around Kalinganagar.
While fogging has been undertaken in villages adjacent to Tata Steel plant in Kalinganagar like Dholpathar and Baragadia, it is being expanded to other nearby villages. Fogging operations are being carried out during the evening to make it effective. To boost awareness on precautions against dengue, Tata Steel has put out communication messages through hoarding boards on Dengue awareness in prominent locations like Duburi, Danagadi, Jajpur Road, Panikoili and Chadeidhara. Apart from display of banners on Dengue awareness in the plant site and periphery villages, the Company is also distributing leaflets illustrating ‘Preventive Measures’ in Odia and Hindi among local people and employees.

The anti- larval squad has been engaged for this activity throughout the plant area and the worker colonies. To boost awareness on precaution against dengue, various IEC activities have been started for the workers and Employees.
A Dengue Action Team has been formed and a Control Room has been set up for monitoring Vector Control Activities. While thermal fogging operations are going on in the plant area, Cold Fogging has been taken up for indoor areas like offices.
