Tata Steel conferred with 15th Annual Greentech Environment Award

Jamshedpur, January 30, 2015

Tata Steel, Jamshedpur Works has been conferred the 15th Annual Greentech Environment Award 2015 in Gold category of Metal & Mining sector on 28th January 2015 at Kolkata. The Award was given by Mr M Narendra, Former Chairman & Managing Director, Indian Overseas Bank. On behalf of Tata Steel, the award was received by Mr Suresh Kumar, Vice President, Shared Services, Tata Steel and Mr Shubhanand Mukesh, Head, Environment, Tata Steel.

The event was graced by Mr K U Mistry, Chairman Gujarat Pollution Control Board, Mr Rajnish Prakash, Chairman & CEO Heavy Water Board, Government of India, Dr T K Joshi, Advisor, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Mr Asok Mohan Charkrabarti, Former Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal and Mr Rajeev Mathur, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited.

Technical presentation was made by applicant industries at Greentech office, New Delhi. The panel of Judges consisted of Dr. R K Suri, erstwhile Director, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Govt. of India, Mr. K G Gupta, erstwhile Executive Director (Corporate HSE), Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Mr. Kamleshwar Sharan, President, Greentech Foundation. 

Greentech Foundation, established in the year 2000 and based at New Delhi, is a non-profit organisation committed to recognise and celebrate ethos of outstanding performance in Environment Protection, Fire & Safety, HR & CSR issues. Greentech Foundation Awards honours the proactive practices of awardees enhancing their esteem.
