Mr H M Nerurkar conferred the 'CEO with HR Orientation' Award
Mr H M Nerurkar, Managing Director, Tata Steel, has received the CEO with HR Orientation Award from STAR News. The award was accepted on his behalf by Mr N.K. Misra, Tata Steel’s Group Head, Mergers & Acquisitions, at a function held recently at Mumbai.
The title was conferred on Mr Nerurkar in recognition of his “outstanding contribution to human resources development, leadership and capability building within your organization”, according to STAR News.
Mr H M Nerurkar joined Tata Steel on 1st February, 1982 and took over as its Managing Director in 2009. He has 35 years of experience in steel industry in its various functions to his credit. He is an executive with multifaceted experience ranging from project execution, manufacturing, Quality Control, Supply Chain, Marketing and is now in the senior management of Tata Steel. He has officiated in several positions and has been actively associated with various academic and professional bodies and clubs in different capacities like Indian Institute of Metals, ULSAC / ULSAS / ULSAB of IISI Brussels, INSDAG, AIMA Governing Council, XIM, Bhubaneshwar Governing Council, Institute of Environmental Management Studies and several others. Mr Nerurkar has been appointed as the member of the General Body of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) with effect from April 2010.
During his illustrious career, Mr Nerurkar has been conferred upon with several prestigious awards such as the ‘CEO with HR Orientation’ by Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards - 2010; ‘Tata Gold Medal-2004’; ‘SMS Demag Excellence Award 2002’, Steel 80s Award-1990’, ‘SAIL Gold Medal-1989’; Visveswaraya Award-1988’ and ‘NMD Award-1987’.
