Mr H M Nerurkar appointed as Member of Sports Authority of India

Mr H M Nerurkar, Managing Director, Tata Steel, has been recently appointed as member of the General Body (Society) of the Sports Authority of India, by the Government of India.

Mr Nerurkar has been nominated as member under the ‘Sports Promoters’ category; the criterion of which is that the candidate should have knowledge of promotion/ organisation and administration of sports and should be nominated by the Government of India. The Government reconstituted the General Body of the Society in April, 2010 and Mr Nerurkar is a member of the present body.

Mr Nerurkar’s appointment reaffirms Tata Steel’s commitment to promotion of sports as one of the Company’s prime community welfare initiatives.
