Mr Akshay Khullar, was appointed Vice President, Engineering & Projects in 2024. A Metallurgical Engineer by qualification, Mr Khullar joined Tata Steel in 1992, in the Company's Long Products Steel Making and Casting division at Jamshedpur. In a career spanning over three decades, he has worked in all aspects of steelmaking, including primary steelmaking, secondary steelmaking, and continuous casting.

Leading operations in long products, Mr Khullar was instrumental in the division's growth from 4 MTPA to 6.8 MTPA. In 2010, he was appointed Chief Thin Slab Caster Rolling and led the project and startup team of LD3 Thin Slab Casting & Rolling as a part of the Company's 9.7 MTPA growth plan. In 2014, he was appointed as Chief LD2 and Slab Caster - the conventional slab casting shop at Tata Steel's Jamshedpur works. In 2020, Mr Khullar was appointed Chief of Manufacturing, Long Products, responsible for Long Product Mills and Steel Making at Jamshedpur.

Before taking over as Vice President, Engineering & Projects, Mr Khullar served as General Manager, Project & Construction, overseeing all aspects of the 3 MTPA to 8 MTPA expansion project at Tata Steel Kalinganagar.

Ashish Anupam is Vice President - Long Products, Tata Steel. He is a Mechanical Engineer from BIT, Mesra, and has also completed a General Management Programme from CEDEP (INSEAD, France).

Mr Anupam joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1991. Since then, he has worked in various functions, including Rolling Mills, International Trading Division and Marketing & Sales for different products (Flat Products, Long Products & Tubes) in various capacities.

In 2004, he was appointed Chief, Marketing & Sales (Tubes), a position he held till 2010 when he was made Chief, Marketing & Sales (Long Products). Mr Anupam was appointed as the President and CEO of NatSteel Holdings, Singapore in 2015. Subsequently, in 2019, he moved to Tata Steel Global Holdings and was also made Non-Executive Director of Tata Sponge Iron Limited.

In November 2019, Mr Anupam was appointed Managing Director of Tata Steel Long Products Limited.

Mr Anupam currently serves on the Boards of Tata Steel (Thailand) PLC and Neelachal Ispal Nigam Limited. He is also Chairman of The Siam Industrial Wire Co., TSN Wires Co., and Indian Steel & Wire Product Limited.

Atrayee Sanyal is the Chief People Officer at Tata Steel Group. She joined Tata Steel in the year 1998. Joining from Hindustan Unilever after a stint in Market Research in Mumbai, Atrayee joined Tata Steel, Kolkata in the Marketing function.

A graduate from Calcutta University and an MBA, she completed the General Management Programme from CEDEP (INSEAD) and also won the British Chevening Scholarship in leadership & management. Atrayee has spearheaded the Branding Journey for Tata Steel from the year 1999, building brands in a commodity industry like steel. She has grown in the Marketing and Sales function by handling various retail and B2SME brands. She was appointed the Chief of Marketing & Sales for Branded Products Retail and Solutions in 2014.

She was appointed the Chief Diversity Officer for the organisation while in Marketing & Sales and has passionately taken forward the journey of Diversity & Inclusion for the Company. She joined the Human Resource Division in 2017 and has handled multiple areas in this function involving white collared and blue collared employees. In addition, she is part of the Profit Centre Councils of two Divisions in Tata Steel and is also a Member of the Board of Directors of two subsidiary companies of Tata Steel.

Mr Chaitanya Bhanu is Vice President - Operations, Tata Steel Jamshedpur. He joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1992 after receiving his degree in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT (BHU), Varanasi. He received his post graduate degree in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur in 1997. In 2019, he attended the General Management Program (GMP) at CEDEP in Fontainebleau, France.

Since 1992 he has worked in different capacities across functions such as Technology, R&D, Steelmaking & Hot Rolling Operations, as well as Human Resources at Tata Steel. He has played an active role in the improvement of performance levels in steelmaking and casting operations at Tata Steel for over two decades. In 2009, Mr Bhanu was the recipient of the Indian Institute of Metals’ Essar Gold Medal for his outstanding contribution to Metallurgy in the area of Steel Manufacturing.

Mr Bhanu is a certified Green Belt in 6 Sigma (IGE India) as well as a certified Thomas Profile Assessor, apart from holding Professional Coach qualification from ICF. He is also associated with the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) and is currently serving as its Joint Secretary.

D B. Sundara Ramam joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1990 after completing B.Sc. Engineering in Mining discipline from NIT, Rourkela.

Worked in various capacities in Coal & Iron ore mines of Raw Materials Division, Ferro Alloys Division & Principal Executive Officer (PEO) to CEO & MD, Tata Steel for the last 34 years, is currently working as Vice President - Corporate Services.

Holds a First Class Mine Manager’s Competency Certificate in Coal from DGMS.

Subsequently, he has completed General Management program from XLRI, Jamshedpur, in 1999.

Mr Jayanta Banerjee is the CIO at Tata Steel Limited, where he is a member of the senior leadership team, and is spearheading IT, Digital and Industrial Automation led Digital and Industry 4.0/5.0 transformation to create business value.

Mr Jayanta Banerjee holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications with specialization in Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence. He is also an alumnus of the General Management Programme in CEDEP, Fontainebleau, France.

Prior to joining Tata Steel as CIO, Mr Banerjee has been a Business Leader in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), driving the Products and Platforms business, asset monetization strategy and governance. He has been the Business leader and Global Head of TCS’ Energy and Resources business.

Mr Banerjee has been with the Tatas for almost thirty years and has led businesses, strategy, sales, delivery, operations and IT/ digital globally. He has played key leadership roles in industry initiatives specific to manufacturing, Life Sciences, CPG, Energy and Natural Resources & has spearheaded strategic transformations in these verticals. He has been instrumental in nurturing many strategic partnerships for TCS and now driving a $2 Billion business value transformation program at Tata Steel leveraging new age digital, IT and industrial automation. He is an empanelled member of World Economic Forum (WEF)- Advanced Manufacturing & CII- Smart Manufacturing Council. He is an active contributor to Niti Ayog, NASSCOM and other premier industry forums on Industry 4.0/5.0 initiatives.

Mr Banerjee is currently on the Boards of Mjunction Services Limited and KGSSL (Kalimati Global Shared Services Ltd.). He serves as a member of the Business Councils of Long Products and Tubes Profit Centres.

He has been an extensive traveller across the globe and takes keen interest in ground-breaking initiatives.

Mr Probal Ghosh, working as Vice President - Asset & Energy Management in Tata Steel Limited, is responsible for Asset, Utilities and Infrastructure management of the 11 million tonnes Integrated Steel Works at Jamshedpur.

He is a Mechanical Engineer by qualification and joined Tata Steel in Jamshedpur as a Graduate Trainee in 1990, having graduated from Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology (IIEST), formerly known as BE College, Shibpur .

Over the past years, he has worked in Operation & Maintenance and Capital Projects execution and also got exposure to TQM practices at JUSE (Japanese Union of Scientists & Engineers) Japan in 2014. He has completed Executive General Management course from CEDEP  (INSEAD campus) at Fontainebleau France in 2015 . He has also attended the Global Advanced Management Program (GAMP) organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in Silicon Valley, USA in 2019.

He has served at different capacities in Mechanical Maintenance functions and executed various upgradation projects in Wire Rod Mill, Hot Strip Mill and Cold Rolling Mill. As the Project Manager, he has the experience of implementation of a Joint Venture Capital project of the Continuous Annealing & Processing Line (CAPL) with Nippon Steel Corporation for M/s JCAPCPL .

During his previous tenure as Chief of Mechanical Maintenance (CoMM) , Tata Steel Jamshedpur Works from Nov 2013, he had worked extensively in establishing Advanced Condition Diagnostic Techniques (CDT), Reliability Centred Maintenance practices and driving Smart Asset Management System (SAMS) leveraging Asset digitalisation and setting up the Asset monitoring & Diagnostic Centre (AMDC) for implementation of Predictive Analytics based Maintenance (PdM) strategy.

He is also associated with Condition Monitoring Society of India (CMSI) and a fellow member of the Institute of Engineers, India Chapter.

Mr Prabhat Kumar is the Vice President - Marketing and Sales, (Flat Products), at Tata Steel. He has held multiple leadership roles across functions in the organisation since 2008 getting deep exposure to the core business, managing stakeholders and high-level management.

Before taking on his current role, Mr Kumar was Principal Executive Officer to CEO&MD, Tata Steel. He has rich experience across Marketing & Sales of both Flat and Long Products and has been instrumental in developing strategies for automotive and construction market segments. Mr Kumar oversaw the launch of several new products to cater to changing market needs. He has rich experience in techno-commercial functions.

Mr Kumar is Mechanical Engineer from B.I.T Sindri and has more than 32 years of rich experience in Tata Steel and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has also completed CEDEP General Management Program at INSEAD, France. He joined Tata Steel Jamshedpur as a Graduate Trainee in 1990.

In addition, he is part of the Profit Centre Councils in Tata Steel and is also a Member of the Board of Directors of subsidiary companies of Tata Steel.

Rajiv holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree in Metallurgy from the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur. He has done Advance Management Programme from CEDEP (INSEAD, France), Director Certification Program from the Institute of Directors, Thailand and has attended the Global Advanced Management Program in Silicon Valley, USA. 

After joining the Company as a Graduate Trainee in 1989, he has worked in various parts of the value chain including manufacturing, planning, marketing and sale of steel. He has held various leadership positions including President & CEO of Tata Steel (Thailand) Public Co. Limited, Business Head for Tubes Strategic Business Unit and Steel Wires Strategic Business Unit. 

Currently, he is the Chairman of Tata Pigments Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel and sits on the boards of Tata Steel (Thailand) Public Co. Limited and ResponsibleSteel, a not-for-profit organisation which is a global multistakeholder standard and certification initiative. He chairs Safety Taskforce at CII Eastern Region Council and represents the Company on various Sustainability Alliances across the globe.

Ms Samita Shah is Vice President – Corporate Finance, Treasury & Risk Management of Tata Steel Limited. She is responsible for managing the Treasury and the financing requirements of Tata Steel Group. She manages the relationship with financial stakeholders including banks, rating agencies and investors. She is also the Chief Risk Officer for Tata Steel and has spearheaded the implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management process across the Tata Steel Group.

Samita Shah serves on the Boards of Tata BlueScope Pvt Ltd., Tata Steel Minerals Canada Ltd., T S Global Procurement Co. Pte Ltd., Tata Steel Foundation and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. She is the Chairperson of TRF Ltd.

Samita Shah joined Tata Steel in 2012 after 20 years of experience in investment banking. She has a BA (Economics) from Mumbai University and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Sandeep Bhattacharya joined Tata Steel as Chief Finance & Accounts Orissa Projects in 2011. Before joining Tata Steel, he worked as Assistant Vice President (Business Finance) at Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd. During his long career, he has handled senior positions in finance and treasury functions at Essar Investments Ltd and at BPCL for more than 13 years.

After joining Tata Steel in 2011, he worked in varied roles across the finance function. He has rich experience in financial procedures and building internal controls for profit monitoring, working capital and asset management. In 2014, he was redesignated as Chief Financial Transaction & Control and in 2019 as Chief Financial Operations & Business Finance.

Sandeep Bhattacharya has significantly contributed to implementing financial plans geared towards the successful accomplishment of business objectives. Post Air India’s acquisition by Tata Group, he led the Tata Steel team formed to help Air India complete the past year’s financial statements and opening balance sheet and completed the audit in record time. He has been instrumental in setting up financial controls at Tata Steel Kalinganagar during the project execution phase which was Tata Steel’s largest capital outlay for a greenfield project. He contributed immensely to building the centralised centre for financial transactions by working with TCS on the One Tata One Network (OTON) project, which made Tata Steel one of the first companies to have moved to the OTON platform. He has been a high performing leader with a proven track record.

Sandeep Bhattacharya completed his PGDM from IMT Ghaziabad and Cost Management Accounting from the Institute of Cost and Works Accounts.

Sandeep Kumar joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1991 after completing his B. Tech. in Mining from IIT-ISM, Dhanbad. He subsequently completed his PG in International Trade from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi in 1994. He also underwent various Management & Leadership Development Programs including that at Leeds University Business School in UK where he won the British Chevening Scholarship in 1999 and at CEDEP, France where he attended its flagship General Management program in 2017.

Sandeep Kumar began his professional career at the Company’s Mines Division in 1991 and subsequently joined the Ferro-Alloys & Minerals Division at Kolkata in 1994 after completing his post graduation. In 2001, he joined the Office of Dy. MD (New & Allied Business) as Executive Officer and thereafter moved to International Trading Division as Head-International Trade. He also served as Regional Sales Manager in Nepal and Dubai before being appointed in 2006 as Executive Officer, MD’s Office at Mumbai. In 2008, he was promoted to IL2 and transferred as Managing Director of S&T Mining (JV of Tata Steel & SAIL) and in 2012 he was appointed Executive In-Charge of Industrial By-Products Management Division. Subsequently, in 2017 he moved to Tata Metaliks as Managing Director. He became the Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited in January 2023. In May 2025, he was appointed as Vice President - Raw Materials.

Sandeep comes with over 32 years of rich and varied business experience. He has been a high performing leader with a proven track record. His achievement orientation and strategic mindset has provided able leadership to the companies he has led. Over the years, Sandeep has also actively engaged with industry forums and bodies. In FY24-25, he served as the Chairman of CII West Bengal State Council and also as a Managing Committee Member of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI).

Mr Subodh Pandey is currently Vice President –Technology, R&D, NMB and Graphene at Tata Steel. He played a key role in the transformation journey of Tata Steel BSL Limited (formerly known as Bhushan Steel Limited). After assuming responsibility as its Chief Operating Officer on September 1, 2018, he ramped up operations, reduced cost through operational efficiency and improved reliability of operations. This is probably the first company under IBC to demonstrate a turnaround in a short span of three years.

Prior to moving to Tata Steel BSL, Mr Pandey was the Executive-in-Charge of Tubes SBU, Tata Steel. He led the digital transformation journey of the Division, wherein he piloted and scaled up various initiatives in the areas of maintenance, warehousing, logistics, marketing and sales and safety.

He also has rich experience across Marketing & Sales of both Flat and Long Products, Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division, Improvement Functions and Engineering & Projects.

Mr Pandey is a B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has also completed CEDEP General Management Program at INSEAD, France. He joined Tata Steel Jamshedpur as a Graduate Trainee in 1992.

Mr Pandey is also Chairman of Angul Energy Limited (formerly known as Bhushan Energy Limited), a subsidiary of Tata Steel, since September 27, 2019. He is passionate about Total Quality Management and has contributed to Tata Steel’s journey to achieve the Deming Grand Prize.

Mr Sudhir Mehta joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1998 after completing his B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT BHU. Since 1998, he has worked in different capacities across functions of Maintenance, Operations and Project execution.

Mr Mehta started his career in the Maintenance Engineering department and subsequently in 2000 he moved as Supply executive. In 2001, he was redesignated as Manager Mechanical Maintenance, A&B Blast Furnace, and thereafter transferred as Manager Projects in 2004, working for H&I Blast Furnaces projects. In 2007, he was promoted as Head Mechanical LD#3. In 2015, he was promoted and transferred to Kalinganagar as Chief Mechanical Maintenance, Iron Making. In 2021 he was deputed to erstwhile Tata Steel BSL Limited (‘TSBSL’) and on foldback of TSBSL, was appointed as Chief Shared Services, Tata Steel Meramandali. In February 2022, he was appointed as Leader of the Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (‘NINL’) PMO Team. Currently, he is the Managing Director of NINL since July 2022.

Mr Mehta comes with more than 26 years of rich and varied business experience. He has been a high performing leader with a proven track record. His achievement orientation and strategic mindset has provided good leadership to the NINL where he has led as Managing Director.

Mr Uttam Singh graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT BHU in 1992 and subsequently joined as a Graduate Trainee in Tata Steel Ltd, Jamshedpur. After a stint of 4 years as Trainee and Manager of Blast Furnace Operation, he left on a sabbatical to earn ‘Executive MBA’ from XLRI, Jamshedpur. Since then, he has been serving in various capacities at Tata Steel for the last 25 years. He is presently the Vice President - Operations, Tata Steel Meramandali.

Mr Singh has made significant contributions in the blast furnace understanding, design and process improvements like estimation of floating state of the dead-man and its relation to the stability of the blast furnace operation, mass distribution in the falling stream of burden materials, development of coke rate prediction model for blast furnaces, evolution of refractory design in ‘I’ blast furnace of Tata Steel and improvement in slag granulation system design at ‘I’ blast furnace of Tata Steel, in total accounting to 22 international/national journals and one patent.

Mr Singh also led the successful team for the fastest ramp-up of ‘I’ Blast Furnace, achieving a record productivity of 2.8 Tons/day/m3 in the second year of production and achieving highest man power productivity of 25 KT/man/year which is better than European counter parts . During his stint as the Chief of ‘I’ blast furnace he has also recorded just ‘One Lost Time Injury’, ‘Zero Effluent discharge’ and ‘Reduction of Water Consumption to 0.5m3/ton of hot metal’. He is also the recipient of ‘Best Departmental Head of the Year’, Tata Steel Ltd in 2005.

In recognition of his phenomenal contribution to the understanding, design and process optimization of blast furnaces keeping in mind the environment and safety concerns, Mr Uttam Singh is awarded the “2014 TSL New Millennium Award”.
