Technology Day
to build partnerships


The progress of science and technology, coupled with its utilisation for the socio-economic development of our country requires strong partnerships in the area of research and technology development between industries, national laboratories and academia. Therefore, nation-wide Technology Day is observed in May, to encourage awareness on the need for such partnerships.

The R&D and Scientific Services Department of Tata Steel observed “Technology Day” through lectures, discussions and a quiz contest. Prof Shankari Prasad Basu, an eminent researcher and Dr T K Roy, renowned technologist were invited to deliver lectures. In the late afternoon session, the final round of the quiz contest was conducted and prizes distributed to the winners.

Speaker : Prof. Shankari Prasad Basu, Retd. Ramtanu Lahiri Chair Professor, University of Kolkata.

“Zero waste - Make it happen”
Speaker : Dr T K Roy, Tata Chair Professor, BESU Shibpur.
