Day
to build partnerships
The progress of science and technology,
coupled with its utilisation for the socio-economic development of our country requires
strong partnerships in the area of research and technology development between industries,
national laboratories and academia. Therefore, nation-wide Technology Day is observed in
May, to encourage awareness on the need for such partnerships.
The R&D and Scientific Services
Department of Tata Steel observed Technology Day through lectures, discussions
and a quiz contest. Prof Shankari Prasad Basu, an eminent researcher and Dr T K Roy,
renowned technologist were invited to deliver lectures. In the late afternoon session, the
final round of the quiz contest was conducted and prizes distributed to the winners.
