Tata
Steel has been fulfilling Honda Motor Cycle and Scooter Indias (HMSIL) raw material
requirements since it began operations in India in 2002. The steel maker today has 100%
share-of-business with HMSIL and its key ancillaries. Each Honda scooter or motorcycle
made in India is manufactured by cold rolled and coated steel made by Tata Steel.
The Company, therefore, believes in
matching Hondas worldwide parameters for excellence to further cement this
relationship.
The Company was evaluated recently by
HMSIL on the basis of five parameters - Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development and
Management Practices, commonly known as QCDDM, according to which Honda assesses its
suppliers worldwide. Tata Steel emerged the leader in the Raw Material category for
2005-06.
The award was conferred on the Company at
HMSILs Annual Suppliers Meet and was presented to it by Mr K Toyota, Executive
Director, Purchase, HMSIL and was received on behalf of Tata Steel by Mr Sunil Prakash,
Chief, Sales - FP. This is the second time in the four year history of HMSIL that Tata
Steel has been recognised by the international manufacturer for its contribution as a Raw
Material Supplier. |
