Yet another endorsement from a customer

The world's only full-line, independent manufacturer of compressors, Tecumseh Products India Limited -a 100% subsidiary of Tecumseh Products- has selected Tata Steel as one of its "Best Suppliers". Tecumseh's Ballabhgarh unit manufactures compressors for the who's who among refrigerator makers in the country, while its Hyderabad unit supplies to premier air-conditioner manufacturers in India.

Tata Steel has been regularly supplying HRSPO Slit Coils to Tecumseh since February 2003 as per the customers "just in time" requirements. The effort made by Tata Steel proved extremely rewarding with Tecumseh acknowledging Tata Steel as its "Best Supplier" despite such a short association. The award was presented to the company at an impressive "Strategic Partners Meet" held at New Delhi. The function was attended by over 100 partners of the company. The theme of the function was promotion of "Brand India" to bolster Tecumseh's export efforts, emphasise "total solutions" and to earn recognition as world leaders in the supply of compressors.
 

Headquartered in Brussels, IISI is a non-profit research organisation, which seeks to help steel industries and associated organisations with access to the latest technical and economic developments, the opportunity to obtain industry data as well as to engage at the international level in common market development programmes. It is the only organisation of its kind dealing solely with matters related to one industry.

Mr Muthuraman, who joined Tata Steel in 1966 as a graduate trainee, is a metallurgical engineer from IIT, Madras as well as a postgraduate in Management Education from XLRI, Jamshedpur and CEDEP, France. He is also on the Board of several companies and a member on the Board of apex industry organisations including the Confederation of Indian Industry.
