FAMD : Back to Wining Ways
|
 |
| P Roy, EIC, FA & M - Unleashing
People's Potential |
Layers of wealth tucked away in bands. Nature in its
fearsome adversity amidst wilderness. Couple this with the grit of an army, an undaunted
spirit to scale new heights and an enterprise to excel. And what you get are the sketches
of Excellence at the Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division of Tata Steel. Where else would
you find the power of leadership guided by Care and Concern, Technology holding hands with
Human Values and Best Business Practices.
So, welcome to the world of FAMD where performance is the
order of the day and breaking records a way of life. For those who are not familiar with
the business, Ferro Alloys are the spices so essential to render the
characteristic tang to "Cooking" the various grades of Steel and
Stainless Steel.
From a modest beginning, the Division today is leading a
silent revolution and rewriting the story of chrome. Faced with declining fortunes in all
its units, FAMDs responses were strategic: In addition to the traditional levers of
slashing costs, compressing Working Capital and maximizing the topline, the leadership was
alive to the importance of the Government as a key stakeholder. Given the
"regulated" nature of the Chrome business, concerted team efforts were put in by
the Brain Trust spanning across Calcutta, Sukinda, Bhubaneswar and Delhi, from
the State level to the Centre. |

its kind in the world of chrome!
A consistently EVA Positive Division:
The Division today is well on the highway to success, but every single player in the Team
FAMous is conscious of the fact that a faster lane on the highway to success is always
under construction. |
