Students grapple with the questions thrown to them

In its Centenary Year, Tata Steel has chosen to ignite the quest for knowledge among the youth of the country through the Centenary Inter School Quiz. This is a reflection of the vision of the Founder Jamsetji Tata, who believed that scientific learning was required for the Nation to achieve economic independence. The quiz, which began with the students of Jamshedpur, is travelling across India and has covered several locations where Tata Steel operates. It has been designed to engage school children in Tata Steel’s Centenary

Celebrations. When organised at Jharia, the Centenary quiz drew school children from Jamadoba, Sijua, Jharia and Digwadih.

The participants fielded questions from Quizmaster Mr Llyod Saldanha of Greycaps, India, which got tougher and yet more interesting with every round. In an exciting finish, DAV Centenary Public School, Carmel School, Digwadih and Indian School of Learning, Jharia bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively.
