In the General Body Meeting of Tribology Society of
India (TSI), held in Jamshedpur on 10th April 2002, Mr Chaturanan
Mishra, Chief of Mechanical Technology Group, Tata Steel, has been elected as
President of TSI for two years. After obtaining B Tech Degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Mr Mishra joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1966
and held many important positions in the Company before being
elevated to his current post. He also did a 12-month research work
at IIT, Kharagpur in Tribology and Lubrication Engineering.
Mr Mishra has published several papers in
national and international journals where four of his papers have
received awards. Mr Mishra is the recipient of Visvesvaraya Gold Medal instituted by
Institution of Engineers (India), in the year 1992.
