Ferro Alloys & Minerals Division (FA&MD), a profit centre of Tata Steel Limited, was formed in 1993 with a clear objective of focusing its business on a long-term basis in the areas of Ferro Alloys and Minerals. Although Chrome & Manganese business form the mainstay, FA&MD also deals with Iron ore, Dolomite, Coal, Coke, other ferro alloys & minerals through various national and international business partners in order to provide a comprehensive package to our valued customers. The business turnover of FA&MD was approx Rs.1469 Crores (US$ 330 million) in FY 2005-2006.

The Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division has leveraged the core strengths of the company to grow successfully into a strong entity, fully equipped to handle exports, imports and trading in Ferro Alloys and Minerals. All the plants and mines of FA&MD are certified to ISO-9001(2000) and ISO-14000 Environment Management System by Indian Register of Quality Systems.

We have priced our products higher because we firmly believe that what separates us from the herd is "QUALITY". We have presence in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Europe (UK, France, Italy, Germany), USA, Brazil, and Australia. The marketing desks are situated at Tokyo (through a dedicated agent), Hong Kong and London. We have a local presence in China (Shanghai).
