Tata Steel supports 5th Senior Jharkhand State Hockey Championship 2022

Simdega/Jamshedpur, August 31, 2022

Team of South Eastern Railway emerged winner in Women’s category and Eklavya Academy in Men’s category of 5th Senior Jharkhand State Hockey Championship 2022 at Astro Turf Hockey Stadium, Simdega organised between August 27-29 on the occasion of National Sports Day.

The team of Ranchi district emerged as Runner’s up in Women’s & Men’s category both.

The event this year was organised by Hockey Jharkhand and Simdega district administration supported by Tata Steel.

Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) won Bronze medal in Men’s category by defeating Seraikela 3-0. NTHA lost to Ranchi in shoot-out by 4-2 in the semi-finals earlier.

A total of 26 teams of Men and 25 teams of Women participated in the Championship from across the State. A team of 16 Men Hockey players from NTHA played in the Championship.

The Chief Guest at the closing ceremony on Monday was Simdega SP Saurav Kumar. The tournament was officially inaugurated on Saturday by Simdega Deputy Commissioner R Ronita. Also present were Hockey Jharkhand President Bhola Nath Singh and General Secretary Vijay Shankar Singh among others.
