Tata Main Hospital bags National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) certificate

Tata Main Hospital has been awarded the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) progressive level certificate, a National level recognition for quality patient care and safety. The hospital has received the award from the NABH Board (constituent board of Quality Council of India).

Tata Main Hospital is the only large Health Care Organization (more than 500 bed hospital) in Jharkhand with NABH progressive level certification. It is the only hospital in the Steel fraternity to have ISO 9001: 2008, National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and NABH progressive level certification.

NABH accreditation at TMH began in the year 2010 with training of around 40 doctors and nurses on NABH standards. Over a period of five years, policies related to patient care and safety were documented and implemented. Continuous monitoring through internal audits and reviews helped to establish NABH standards in terms of patient care, employee safety and compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements. The hospital was subsequently assessed by NABH assessors for its compliance to NABH standards

National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organisations. The board is structured to cater to much desired needs of the consumers and to set benchmarks for progress of health industry. The board while being supported by all stakeholders including industry, consumers, government, have full functional autonomy in its operation.
