Tata Steel inaugurates Asset Monitoring & Diagnostic Centre

West Bokaro, February 22, 2017

Tata Steel today inaugurated the ‘Asset Monitoring and Diagnostic Centre’ at MED Mechanical Department, Tata Steel. Mr TV Narendran, MD, Tata Steel, India & SEA graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The centre showcases the Data Analytics Capability to analyse high speed data recorded in the plant. The system was developed with active participation from other departments like Automation, Electrical, & Technology group

On this occasion Mr Narendran also launched the mobility and web based solutions to reduce mean time to repair and detect structural failures. He appreciated the work being done in multiple areas using technology and digitisation to solve every day and long term problems. He also praised the work done on structural integrity being very educative and enriching. He advised to continue this journey with greater vigour. This was followed by celebrations on achieving the best ever repair and rejoint figures in Rubber Technology in the month of January ‘2017

On the occasion B K Das, VP, Iron Making, Tata Steel also appreciated the work done and was confident that the condition monitoring is now moving towards being the best in industry.

Mr Suresh Kumar, VP, Shared Services, Tata Steel, Mr Probal Ghosh, Chief, Mechanical, Mr A Ranjan , Chief, Electrical, Mr Uttam Singh, Chief, Blast Furnace & Mr Prakhar Mishra, Chief, Coke  also appreciated the work done so far and wished the department well for its future endeavours
