Tata Steel organizes rally for 'No use of plastic'
Tata Steel’s Urban Services, CSR division is taking an initiative toward awareness building on ‘No use of plastic’. The aim is to improve the living standards of the community and to make Jamshedpur a clean, green and pollution free city.
A rally was organized as a part of this awareness campaign on Monday, May 30, 2016. The rally was flagged off by Mr Srikant Kumar Pati, Chief, Environment Management, Tata Steel from Baridih Community Centre. About 200 people gathered for this noble cause. A Door-to- Door Campaign was also done to interact with the people residing in these areas for non-usage of polythene bags and alongside, cloth bags were distributed.
Mr G M Sharan, Head, Special Projects, CSR was also present. The dignitaries present also planted trees at the community center.
The rally was organized as a part of the ongoing World Environment Day campaign initiative by Tata Steel’s Environment Department.
